Wonderful set, love the expressive faces of these rooster's. Large brooch that also has a bail for a chain and screwback earrings with abalone inlay. Pretty iridescent rainbow colors radiate when turned in the light, much better than my photos can show. These have a slightly curved design, you can tell from the backs they were hand crafted and shaped. Pre eagle, from the late 1930's to early 40's and stamped "Sterling, 925, Taxco, Mex, ADR". Excellent condition with all inlay present, medium patina with some silver polish residue in the crevices. I've left them as found. Any cracks seen are just from where the abalone was pieced together very tightly and neatly from the same piece of shell to conform with the curve. Brooch measures 3 X 2 inches and the earrings are 1 X 1 1/4 inches. Beautiful mexican folk art pieces, you'll love the way these display when worn. Quite striking.
