This unique clasp is vintage and pre-owned but in great condition. Was removed from a broken Italian gold 14K chain.
Designed to be strong and to last. The tubular spring pulls back for the bale to be inserted into the clasp. Admittingly, I find this to be difficult, not because of the size but because the spring is so strong and tight. Works freely however. If you want this to replace a clasp on a necklace I would recommend it for a long one that fits over the head but it's perfect for chains that are worn continuously and not removed very often. Though a little tricky, you couldn't ask for a safer clasp to keep your necklace secure. Excellent thickness and weighs 0.6 grams of 14k shiny yellow gold. Solid, not plated or filled. Has some light scratches overall. Has a patent number on the round head of the tubular spring and is also stamped 14K. Excellent!
The clasp measures 15.7 x 4.5 mm and the bale is 10 x 4 mm. Comes in two pieces shown without jump rings.
