This beautiful mid 1960's set is by Edward Swoboda. Some what rare, you don't come across his pieces very often. His jewelry is very high quality once having his own showrooms as well as selling in fine jewelry and leading department stores such as Saks, Nieman Marcus, Harrod's and Bloomingdales.
This set consists of a miniature flowering bonsai in a fully diamentional pot that will actually stand on it's own. It also has matching earrings, all set with rainbow shades of genuine south american semi-precious tumbled gemstones and real cultured pearls. The colors just pop out at you with adventurine, amethyst, rose quartz, peridot, lapis and carnelian stones. Notice how each are shaped in order to form the petals of the flowers. I think his designs were quite magnificant yet totally feminine and elegant. The setting has heavy gold plate and the surface of the tiny pot is covered in tiny pebbles. All stones are present and it really shows no signs of wear, close to new. Not shown but it will come in it's original R. Rand & Son Jewelers velvet and satin lined box. Simply gorgeous!
