This is a beautifully carved antique pre-ban elephant ivory pendant (1900-1920's) that features an iris surrounded by daisies and a lily with a filigree carved background. Largest one I have ever seen, including the bail it measures 3" long and 2" wide. Probably Asian origin but I have seen some from Germany and France similar to this one as well. Found on this braided black cord with a sliding bead and carved screw clasp. The pendant is guaranteed ivory but the cord is not original to the pendant. The bead and clasp are carved bone but they do look good with the pendant and cord is the best to use for less change of breaking the bail. The pendant weighs a little over 24 grams. Displays beautifully, very impressive but does have a small filigree piece missing to the side. Also the bone clasp is dry and does not want to stayed screwed so it should be replaced. Though I have read that if you soak it, it might expand and work well again.
