With a branch and nest goldtone setting, sits a bird hand carved from pre-ban elephant ivory made back in the 1960's. The bird is painted in light yellow and blue with black to highlight the carving of its eyes. In the nest are ivory eggs, not pearls as seen in many of these Swoboda brooches. Around the nest are tiny tumbled orange Carnelian chips for the leaves on the branches. Has some light wear to some of the high points on the back but only slightly so, it does not take away from the overall look of this pretty piece. Measures 1-1/2" x 1-1/4", and about 3/4" high which includes the bird.
