The shell is known as Shiva or Evil Eye. It was thought that the eye gave protection to ward off Evil Eyes. The links appear very Art Deco to me and have intricate patterns. The pendant features the shell on one side and on the reverse side has scrolls and flower like pattern in the center. Well made with the necklace links soldered closed where it counts for security. Has some light wear showing brass underneath the silver finish and all over lovely patina. At the end is a simple large spring ring clasp, no markings on this piece but absolutely fascinating and captivating.
