The beautiful necklace and earrings are made up of white agate beads. They are uniquely hand strung. Between the agate beads are little bundles of white thread that also go through the beads. Besides the white thread there is also twisted metallic threads. These metallic and white threads not only hold the little bundles but actually go through the agate beads as well, joining them all together into this 30" necklace. Strung as they are they do not hang loosely, they all are held tightly together. Found in the same box were the screw back agate earrings. The agates match in size to the smaller ones on the necklace.
The stones are semi transparent with some opaque bands and stripes. Excellent quality. Only the metallic threads are darkened from age and a few loose ones as shown in the close up photos. The earrings have tarnish on the metal.
Largest elongated beads are about 1-1/4" x 5/8". The smaller ones are about 7/8" x 1/2".
