The pinwheel design has light blue and white hard enamel set into tiny little flowers on each part. The outside edge has little swirl patterns all the way around.
Both the back of the pendant and the bale is marked 14K and it's been tested for accuracy. For those of you who may not know when marked 14KP, the P is for plumb meaning the gold content is exact, no more and no less solid 14k. The opal is full of fire with blues, greens and purple with a hint of gold and orange colors. Much nicer than the photos can show.
